Rules and Regulations for Contestants

Naija Talent Show (NTS) is a family-friendly competition. These rules ensure fairness, safety, and smooth event operations. All contestants must comply.

2–4 mins performance length
No dangerous or messy acts
Judges’ decision is final

1 Eligibility and Registration

Entry • Consent • Auditions
  • Participants: Open to individuals or groups.
  • Entry Limit: One entry per contestant (no multiple acts).
  • Registration: Submit completed form before the deadline.
  • Parental Consent: Required for contestants under 18.
  • Auditions: May be required for suitability and technical checks.

2 Performance Guidelines

Content • Safety • Costumes
  • Content Policy: PG-rated only. No profanity, vulgarity, offensive lyrics, or suggestive behavior.
  • Time Limit: 2–4 minutes. Exceeding 5 minutes may be stopped or penalized.
  • Safety Restrictions: No fire, pyrotechnics, weapons, live animals, or unsafe stunts.
  • Stage Cleanliness: No glitter, feathers, sand, water, paint, silly string, or messy substances.
  • Costumes: Must be appropriate, tasteful, and modest.

3 Technical Requirements

Music • Audio • Setup
  • Music Submission: Submit MP3/USB by the deadline. Label clearly with the act name.
  • Audio/Vocals: Recorded accompaniment allowed. For singers, lead-vocal backing tracks are not allowed.
  • Equipment: Organizers provide microphones and sound system. Bring your own instruments/props.
  • Setup Time: Setup and take-down must be within 1 minute.

4 Rehearsal and Show Day

Check-in • Backstage
  • Mandatory Rehearsal: Attend dress rehearsal to finalize sound and lighting cues.
  • Check-in: Arrive and check in 30–60 minutes before showtime.
  • Backstage Conduct: Stay in designated areas. Remain quiet and respectful during other acts.

5 Judging and Awards

Criteria • Prizes

Performances will be scored by a panel of judges using the criteria below:

  • Skill / Proficiency (25%): Ability, technique, and expertise.
  • Stage Presence / Showmanship (25%): Confidence, engagement, and presentation.
  • Originality / Creativity (25%): Uniqueness of the act.
  • Appropriateness (25%): Compliance with family-friendly standards.
Important Final Decision

The judges’ decisions are final and are not subject to discussion or change. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

6 Disqualification

Zero tolerance

Any act that violates these rules—especially regarding safety, appropriateness, or conduct—may be immediately disqualified and removed from the stage.

By registering for Naija Talent Show, all contestants confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to follow these rules and regulations.
